The Historic Forts of Texas 1846-1890

Texas is a big state with almost five centuries of historic frontier forts that have protected various peoples, nations, and territories. Speaker Bob Bluthardt serves as director of  Fort Concho National Historic Landmark in San Angelo; his presentation will concentrate on Texas as a US state (1846 to 1900), look at the various lines of forts, why and how they came to be created, and the current condition/status of several dozen of the better known posts.
