San Angelo: Lilyfest 2014

September 20 at 9:00am

The schedule depends on the water lilies opening.  They don't open until it gets warm around 10 or 10:30 (depending on the weather).  Ken doesn't want to start the program until they open.  The crowd will gather from 9:00 am and may linger all day.  The Garden Club Ladies will have cookies and punch.

We will be selling water lilies from the pool to the public and we will be teaching how to create an everlasting water lily in silica gel.  We will sell kits to people who are interested.  The money will enhance the water lily collection.

We have new pool that will be ready and full of water lilies.  The concrete is ready for the new shade building.  It has electricity and a stage area.  The roof will be constructed before the show on September 20.   Of course the tree is gone.  The park has a new look.

We will honor the Mayor, Irene Meitzen from the Garden Club, and Elmer Kelton with water lilies that Ken has created just for them.
