In 1920, noted Texas architect Henry T. Phelps designed the First State Bank, which now houses the Eastland County Museum, a repository of area history. The Museum's first floor has a very large space for county and traveling exhibits. The mezzanine, overlooking the main floor, features an exhibit area and is available for lectures and meetings. The second floor is divided into the original small office spaces. These offices, with their original dark woodwork and patterned glass, will be used for permanent displays of history of each community in Eastland County to include Carbon, Cisco, Desdemona, Gorman, Morton Valley, Ranger, Rising Star and others.
