Once recognized as the "smallest school in Texas," the little red brick schoolhouse located five miles north of Strawn on Highway 16 has been fully restored. A historical marker tells its story from when it first opened to students in the fall of 1937 to its closure in 1943 when the Strawn school board voted to annex the district.
